Additional Notes of Karen Sue Sams
March 20, 1965 Sams-Krone Double-ring marriage vows were recited by Karen Sue Sams, 210 W. Iron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaden L. Sams, Culbver, and A-1c William H. Krone III, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Krone II, Phoenix, Ariz., March 20 at the Schilling AFB chapel. Chaplain Chester Ross officiated before an altar setting of two seven-branch candelabra decorated with lavender carnations, white chrysanthemums and leather fern. A vase of varigated lavender flowers was on the organ and white satin bows were pew markers. Other decorations were lavender carnations and leather fern. Mrs. S. O. Moberly and Judy Hoff, both of Salina, were musicians. The bride wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace over satin fashioned with a fitted bodice, long tapered sleeves and an upstanding Queen Anne collar. The bodice and collar were embroidered with seed pearls and iridescent sequins and deep ruffles of lace cascaded down the full skirt. A hat of chantilly lace covered with seed pearls and Aurora Borialis crystals held her sild illusion veil. A large white mum with velvet maidenhair and pearls centered her bouquet of Sterling Silver roses with white ribbon streamers and white satin leaves. Dana Lou Sams, Provo, Utah was her sister's maid-of-honor, and the bride's aunt, Mrs. Betty Day, Culver, was matron-of-honor. They wore bright aqua brocate dresses with matching headpieces, and carried cascade bouquets of lavender carnations and white pom-pom mums with ribbon streamers. Linda McKee, Hays, registered the guests, and the candlelighter was the bride's cousin, Rodger Day, Culver. A-2c Harold Leonard, Schilling, was best man, and groomsmen and ushers were A-1c Gary Asher, Schilling, and Wayne Day, Culver, cousin of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reed, Bennington, were hosts at the reception. Assisting were Mrs. Jerry Smith, Junction City; Mrs. John McKee, Great Bend, and Jim Rosebrook, Margaret Rosebrook and Mmes. Oscar Rosebrook, Howard Nelson, Hubert Spohn and Alva Burger, all of Culver. The bride is a graduated of Culver high school and the Air Age Institute, Kansas City, Mo. She works at the Southwestern Bell Telephone company. Her husband was graduated from Horsmann high school, Gary Ind., and attended colleges in Gary and Phoenix. He is with the 310th Combat Defense Squadron at Schilling, and a member of the base judo team. The couple is at home at 210 W. Iron, until May 1. They will then go to Phoenix to live. |
